IBEROSTAR presents the fourth edition of its employees solidarity funds
  • “Employees Solidarity Fund” is an initiative promoting solidarity and commitment among employees at the GRUPO IBEROSTAR headquarters.

  • At the Headquarters in Palma, the organisations “Educaclown” and “Ángel García, Mi Pequeño Guerrero” received the money collected by the GRUPO IBEROSTAR employees, €2500 for each group to help in financing their respective projects.

GRUPO IBEROSTAR handed over the money collected from the fourth edition of its “Employees Solidarity Fund”, an internal initiative which was originally launched to promote cooperation among the employees at the group’s headquarters.

The daily involvement of the IBEROSTAR employees, the voluntary contributions, fund-raising breakfasts and solidarity excursions have given life to the solidarity projects that will be carried out through this fund.

As in previous editions, in a complementary way, the Foundation has pledged to match the money collected and double the funds to be donated.

Educaclown and Ángel García, Mi Pequeño Guerrero were the organisations selected by the employees for this edition of the Solidarity Fund. Thanks to the help and support from the group’s employees, these two associations will receive €2500 each to support their respective projects.

The NGO Socialclown launched the Educaclown initiative to use performing arts as a therapeutic aid towards improving the quality of life of children, teenagers and marginalised groups and facilitate their social integration. With the money received for its “JuegaClownicio” project, the NGO can provide a weekly session with two clowns to the children at the Puig des Bous residential centre for 12 months. The centre takes in children who have been removed from their family environment because of ill-treatment and abuse.

And the Ángel García, Mi Pequeño Guerrero group, which was created by Ángel’s parents to try and finance the care their 4-year old son requires, who suffers from a rare degenerative disease called SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) which causes progressive muscle wasting. The money donated to this Mallorcan group will be used to pay for nine months of physiotherapy for little Ángel at the Creix children’s development centre.
