Lindblad Expeditions and Exhale launch wellness cruise

Lindblad Expeditions has teamed up with the well-known lifestyle brand, Exhale, to create their new Base Camp Baja route, where passengers cross the Sea of Cortez in Mexico aboard the National Geographic Sea Bird to rediscover their inner self.

Lindblad Expeditions and Exhale have combined their areas of expertise to create this product and satisfy the needs of a public looking for a tailor-made travel experience focused on wellness.

Passengers get to enjoy the breathtakingly beautiful landscapes while taking part in the Exhale workshops, which include yoga, therapeutic massages and meditation. Imagine enjoying a paddleboard yoga session on a fantastic beach with a beautiful sunset in the background.

The three- and four-day voyages are designed to discover all the wonders of the pristine Sea of Cortez, which Jacques Cousteau once called the world’s aquarium because of the vast array of marine species that inhabit the body of water. Each day the ship anchors near one of the nearby islands and guests get to discover idyllic spots like Espiritu Santo and Isla Partida, both of which are declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

The voyage is conceived to make every passenger’s experience unique, and guests can customise each day of the journey as they wish as there’s a wide range of activities on offer. The cruise ship has all the necessary equipment, along with instructors specialised in personal well-being.

One of the activities for passengers is the Kayak tours. All the equipment is available on board, and you don’t need to be an expert as instructors are on hand to help with rowing techniques for anyone who wishes to explore the bays.

Snorkelling is another popular activity on this voyage for all those who wish to venture out in the crystal clear waters of the Sea of Cortez and discover the playful sea lions and schools of colourful fish that inhabit the reefs in the area.

Amidst nature and fitness activities, the food concept fits perfectly with the theme of the voyage, maintaining balance and achieving a holistic experience. Passengers can indulge in fresh and healthy buffets in each of the three daily meals. All the food served is sourced from local suppliers with sustainability values.

There will be seven Base Camp Baja departures onboard the National Geographic Sea Bird, beginning in December 2017 and extending through January 2018. More dates are expected to be announced soon so more, and more people can enjoy four full days focused on personal well-being and balance.
