Marbella is also design and art this summer 2019

Over forty prestigious designers are lined up to attend the second edition of MARBELLA DESIGN, which will be held from 4 to 15 July at the Marbella Trade Fair and Conference Centre.

From 4 to 15 July, MARBELLA DESIGN will once again fill the Trade Fair and Conference Centre with design, exclusive products, luxury items, cuisine, music and conferences. In the second year of the event, over 40 renowned interior designers will turn Marbella into the epicentre of the world of interior design, decoration and luxury design.

The successor to the 2018 edition is more mature and has a clear objective and philosophy: MARBELLA DESIGN wants to position itself as an exhibition that goes even further, and becomes a full experience. The event is looking to the future, taking the best references from the past and present, creating an innovative space full of nods to exclusive interior design, without forgetting the most innovative design on the current scene.

Over eleven days, each exhibitor will shape a space with a specific decorative theme, creating a discourse by designers using pieces from the most exclusive brands. Art will continue to hold an important space in interior design, given that the event is organised by the same team as ART MARBELLA, which already has five years of experience in the field and is headed by Alejandro Zaia, with Manuel Díaz Cebrián as Artistic Director. In summary, there will be a dialogue between design, architecture, objects and art shown through unique, temporary displays.

Some of the interior designers that will take part in this year’s event include Sandra Amate, Adriana Nicolau, Soledad Ordoñez, de Bontemps, Nayra Iglesias, Javier Martín Designs (with a space designed by Blanca Pera), Susana Urbano (from the studio Urbano Interior) and Villeroy & Boch (whose space will be designed by one of the best interior designers on the current scene), Gastón and Daniela Málaga. In addition, Guadarte will work on the furniture for the common areas at MARBELLA DESIGN, with the involvement of prestigious designer Héctor Ruíz Velázquez, who will play a special and important role in this year’s event.

Edition 2019

MARBELLA DESIGN 2019 will cater to the five senses of participants this year, creating an even more all-encompassing experience with catering areas that will be specially designed for the occasion. The area will use 3,112 m2 of the city’s Trade Fair and Conference Centre and will offer visitors the chance to try all the latest culinary trends.

The change in philosophy at the exhibition is also accompanied by a new creative team, including Carolina Abril from “Con A de abril” who is in charge of executive management, and Sergio Sánchez and David Jiménez Garcia as creative directors. Sergio and David are the interior designers who founded the brands GM Proyecto Living and Deseesedesign, studios that specialise in designing professional, contract and retail spaces, as well as turnkey luxury projects.

This year’s event will also be sponsored by CLOROFILA DIGITAL, a leading company at the forefront of the digital printing sector, with 30 years of experience.

MARBELLA DESIGN aims to consolidate itself as one of the most important international design shows in Spain, a meeting point for communication between professionals and design and luxury lovers.

A key display point for national and international designers, emerging figures and consolidated stakeholders, at an event that is attended by a wide range of public as well as international experts, opening up Spanish design and interiors to the most exclusive international sector.

Design for Life

During these conferences, there will be a discussion, among other things, on the latest trends in design and interiors, both in Spain and abroad.

It should also be highlighted that Paloma Gómez Marín, head of the renowned Open House Madrid event, will once again be at the forefront of the organisation and “Design for Life” event this year.

In the middle of the high season, MARBELLA DESIGN is joining the wide range of cultural and leisure offers on in the city over the coming days, with other big events like the music festival Starlite Marbella; confirming its commitment to turning Marbella and the Costa del Sol into reference points for design.
