Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs, the perfect car for travelling with dogs

Nissan, the Japanese car manufacturer has unveiled a unique new model – the X-Trail 4Dogs concept –, a perfect car for family adventures, especially those with a four-legged friend. The car’s 445 litre capacity luggage compartment has been given a complete makeover to provide a wide range of new features. The vehicle comes with the necessary harnesses to keep dogs well secured and safe during the journey, along with a fold-away ramp so the dogs can walk up into the luggage compartment easily.

This crossover vehicle has everything you need to keep your dogs clean and comfortable after a long muddy walk in the countryside or any other type of trip. You can wash them with the 360º pull-out shower and then dry their wet coat with the built-in dog dryer.

The Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs has been designed with every practicality in mind. The dog bed, water bowl, and the snack dispenser can be removed to create a usable load space. Another of the Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs’ ingenious additions is the “dog cam”. The device is integrated into the X-Trail’s NissanConnect infotainment system, allowing owner and dog to see each other through the seven-inch dashboard display and a new ten-inch LCD screen installed in the back of the car. The owner can also talk to the dog via an audio link to keep it calm.

According to a survey carried out by Nissan, almost all dog owners consider their pet to be part of the family, and the vast majority would also buy a new car that came with more dog-friendly features. During the presentation of the concept vehicle, Ryan Gains, X-Trail chief marketing manager said: “It’s clear from the research that for dog owners, dogs are a key part of the family. Ensuring pets needs are catered for is often as important as making sure the children are comfortable and happy. The Nissan X-Trail is a car that’s built for family adventures, and the X-Trail 4Dogs concept takes that to the next level.”
