StarLite 2017 and Manuel Carrasco

StarLite 2017 and Manuel Carrasco

In all its beauty and splendour, the Cantera de Nagüeles was brought to its knees with the performance from the Huesca born singer on August 25th as part of ‘StarLite 2017’.

This was an extraordinary event, and Carrasco’s second time performing at Starlite 2017. His first concert in July sold out in just a few hours, so he agreed to return and close the last week of Starlite 2017 with a final flourish, like the numerous other artists who performed in the auditory this summer.

Right from the beginning, Manuel made his intentions for the night clear by starting off with ‘Tambores de guerra’, to the joy of the crowd. The tempestuous rhythm was only the warm-up to a collection of songs that delighted Carrasco’s legion of fans.

Songs like ‘Bailar el viento’, ‘Sabrás’, ‘Yo quiero vivir’, Que nadie ‘, and a long string of hits, together with a few surprise flamenco coplas thrown in for good measure that were dedicated to Marbella. Pablo Raéz, the very young and brave man from Marbella who lost his battle with leukaemia earlier this year also received a special mention. Carrasco was accompanied on stage by Carlos Torres, singer of ‘La Voz’, who belted out ‘Y ahora’ , one of the most anticipated songs of the night.

Another of the most moving moments of the evening that delighted his fans was when he dedicated ‘Pequeña sonrisa sonora’ to his recently born daughter Chloe who is just two months old.

Once again, Manuel touched and charmed the thousands of people who came to see him play with his last song of the evening ‘Siendo uno mismo en cualquier parte’. A night all the fans thoroughly enjoyed and will surely remember for a long time to come.
