Technological advances in the tourism industry at the ITH Innovation Summit in Madrid

ITH Innovation Summit begins tomorrow in Madrid, the reference event in the hotel sector will present the latest innovation and technology applied to the industry, with four different themed forums over 2 days and several short presentations for professionals.

The event will bring together speakers from large corporations in the hotel, tourism and technology sector to provide a global vision, the necessary synergies in these sectors and their final application.

The conferences will underline the importance of keeping up to date in the development of management resources in such as competitive sector and are also a networking space for the main players in the sector of innovation and tourism technology, both for hoteliers and suppliers.

Data analysis, digital transformation and smart control, cybersecurity strategies and innovation in property asset management are the main topics to be discussed at the forums of the first IHT Innovation Summit taking place this Tuesday and Wednesday, October 9-10, at the NH Collection Madrid Eurobuilding.

The Summit will be complemented by Innovation Talks, an area offering short 15-minute workshops, talks and presentations by professionals from big-name companies such as Expedia, Tinsa Digital, IBM, Siemens and Vincci Hoteles.

The four forums are allotted over the two days as follows:

OCTOBER 9th:

Enormous advances in the hotel sector in terms of the information and tools available to know customers and their environment generate opportunities for discussion such as this one, which will look at the use of data intelligence in the various areas of the business. The forum will cover areas such as operational management, online reputation, positioning, revenue management and customer experience.

The hotel sector in Spain is the 3rd sector with the most cyber-attacks. This is a major threat to the tourism business network, and this forum aims to highlight the possible risks and the preventative measures that should be implemented as part of their cybersecurity strategies.

OCTOBER 10th:

The digital transformation is reaching the sector, and when it comes to the internet of things and its possible uses, the connection between hotels and visitors is also becoming more visible. We’ll discover the latest trends in domotics and automation and control systems for different features of hotel buildings.

Investments in hotels in Spain in the first six months of this year has already exceeded the total amount from 2017. Investment funds are becoming more sophisticated in this growing market, and it’s vital to stay up to date with innovation in property asset management, new financing formulas, investment trends and business models.
