Unique Cruises to sail the seas

Travelling is a word that invites both emotion and novelty. But it can be so much more if you are visiting somewhere you love. And if you want to make the most of everything you enjoy, there’s nothing better than a themed cruise.

To make it even easier, the search engine ‘Aquotic’ has come up with a list of some of the best cruises.

These trips have been planned down to the last detail, and the great advantage for tourists is that they are in a huge ship full of amenities, so it’s all plain sailing!

The market now offers cruises to suit every taste, and we’ve handpicked some of the most interesting options:

Sail to the beat:

Luxury shipping company Ponant has organised a great musical cruise for 2019 that offers concerts on board, while the itineraries themselves are themed to delve deeper into the different destinations from a musical point of view.

Titled ‘A Musical Odyssey in the Mediterranean’ the cruise features a seven-night itinerary aboard the ship Le Bougainville from Athens to Rome and is scheduled between September 20 and 27 this year.

The cruise combines some of the best destinations in Greece and Italy with a series of private classical music recitals.

This cruise is on a very different note to the already classic Rock Legends Cruise aboard the Independence of the Seas of Royal Caribbean. With over 60 rock concerts, meetings with artists, talks and more, the next cruise sets sail from February 27 to March 2, 2020.

Haute cuisine:

French river cruise company CroisiEurope has planned several themed cruises where fine dining is the main feature. A short four-day cruise that departs from and returns to Strasbourg, this trip features special meals and dinners every day with different types of cuisine: Hungarian, Mexican, Arabic, Italian and, of course, Spanish. The cruise sets sail on November 11, 2019.

The P&O Cruises company offers the Food Hero cruise, which consists of different trips ranging from 7 to 14 nights through the Norwegian fjords, along the Mediterranean coast, to Scandinavia and Russia, all accompanied by three culinary celebrities: Marco Pierre White, a great Michelin star chef, wine expert Olly Smith and pastry chef Eric Lanlard.

The luxury cruise company Silversea Cruises offers customers the Wine Series, with eleven cruise ships, which is designed for wine lovers looking to enjoy fine wines in outstanding surroundings while touring some of the world’s most famous wine regions with guided tours.

Game of Thrones at sea

The backdrops where a number of episodes of the popular series were shot can be found all over Europe, and they have become popular tourist destinations. The scenes filmed in Northern Ireland even have their own guided route. The Game of Thrones themed cruise dedicates one of its stops to visiting these locations as part of a tour of the British Isles. This trip takes place aboard the Crystal Serenity and is organised by the cruise company Crystal Cruises.

A water park aboard a ship

Many of the bigger ships offer entertainment that includes water slides, swimming pools, water jets and other games for the little ones, but the Carnival Cruise Lines company has gone even further on the newly renovated Carnival Sunshine ship and offers an authentic adventure through its water park rides and slides. WaterWorks is a truly new water park where cruise passengers are sure to get an adrenaline rush.

For Star Trek

Fans of the popular space saga are in luck. Star Trek: The Cruise is already in its fourth edition, and it offers fans the chance to share an experience with actors from the mythical saga (William Shatner, Robert Picardo, Jonathan Frakes, and more) and the most avid Star Trek fans in the universe. This 7-day trip aboard the spectacular Royal Caribbean ship Explorer of The Seas, which will take place from March 1-8, 2020, around the Caribbean, offers an unprecedented commitment from many of the stars of the series, who will take part in special shows, events, activities and parties, all with a Star Trek theme.

Nudist cruises

The first nudist cruises were started over thirty years ago, and the idea seems to be getting more and more popular. Carnival Legend estimates that over 3000 people will take part in the trip, which starts on February 14, 2021. The cruise will leave from the port of Tampa (Florida, USA), and will last for 15 days, visiting eight destinations in the Caribbean.

Darth Vader and friends

Fans of the famous saga can discover sun-kissed destinations like Jamaica and the Cayman Islands accompanied by characters such as Darth Vader and Stormtroopers. Everything is related to Star Wars on this cruise: Jedis teach passengers how to use lightsabers, film screenings are on offer, and there are shows and exhibitions with a number of collectables.
