Happy 20th Anniversary Rusticae

Rusticae, considered a pioneering company and leader in charming breaks away from city life, is celebrating its 20th anniversary and consolidating its position as a change agent in the Spanish tourism sector with a network of more than 300 charming hotels in 16 countries around the world.

It started out back in 1996 by taking advantage of a niche market that was underexploited in Spain. A country that’s an expert in selling sun and beach holidays but had hardly developed rural tourism. With the help of two entrepreneurs, Isabel Llorens and Carlota Mateos, this channel came to life to promote inland tourism

The concept behind developing rural tourism boosted a sector that has since provided a lot of work as launching one of these establishments also means opening other (shops…) that feed on these hotels.

Rusticae’s website currently offers packs of nights with breakfast, dinner or activities with prices starting from as little as 90 euros.

In the coming years, Rusticae will continue to provide its ever-growing list of charming hotels, but with the plan to establish itself even more through the coupling of a countryside and city concept, it’s launching with Juan Vila, one of the club’s hoteliers. This time round, the project is based on a very current trend: providing healthy meals made from homemade menus using 100% certified organic products.

The commitment of this new venture is rooted in bringing the countryside to the cities and offering quality food to people who because of their busy lifestyle don’t have the opportunity to cook or eat this type of food usually. Thereby they hope to achieve a demand in the city that makes the activity in the countryside more sustainable by offering proximity and local products. With this project, the idea is to recuperate the essential model of the countryside providing food to the city.

A vision that doesn’t disregard the rural aspect, but takes it towards the major cities to reach more and more people.
