Ryanair apps ranked no. 1 in Europe with a record number of download, uses and ratings

Ryanair’s app has received 17m downloads. According to the company, this makes it the leading airline app in Europe on both iOS and Android as it also reported registered app usage from customers.

Visits from the app rose by 70% during the last week of December and the first week in January, with more and more customers booking flights through mobile devices. The app has received an average of 4.5 stars out of 5 from users in Europe.

Customers now have the possibility to rate the app in real time as they process a booking, iOS users gave the Irish airline’s app 4.6 stars our of 5 and Android users gave a rating of 4.3. Irish iOS users gave the app 5/5, while French, German, Greek, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Spanish and English users gave it 4.5 or higher.

 

Ryanair’s app also has the “My Ryanair” feature, allows even faster access and an easier booking process and is available in 8 languages (a Portuguese version will be launched soon) and allows users to:

 

  • Log in via the “My Ryanair” feature
  • View flight information
  • Save travel documents
  • Choose and book fares and allocated seats
  • Book hotels and car rental
  • Check-in and download boarding passes to your mobile phone

 

Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Officer, Kenny Jacobs said: “We are continually improving our mobile app for both iOS and Android, and we’re delighted to see customers are enjoying our upgrades and exciting new features, which puts the Ryanair app in pole position across Europe with more than 17m downloads and a rating of 4.5 out of 5.

 

Visits from the app jumped by 70% over the holiday period and as we’re witnessing traffic from mobile devices outnumber desktop visits we’ve decided to develop a series of mobile-first digital improvements as part of our “Always Getting Better” programme.”
