Say hello to Sensync: a new generation of wellness

Say hello to Sensync: a new generation of wellness

Spa and wellness treatments are one of the most requested features when it comes to choosing a hotel for your dream holiday, and thanks to this demand we’re now seeing more and more innovative services all the time.

Your senses fall into harmony, whether it’s with exercises like aqua yoga, a few minutes in the sauna or a revitalising massage in a hotel that offers a space to relax such as the Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel.

Today, technology has advanced, and we have the Vessel, a multi-sensory approach to relaxation and managing stress that combines virtual reality and immersive wellness.

Think of it as a “massage” for the mind that takes you away from the earthly world. The Vessel was developed by Sensync, a company founded by Dr Adam Gazzaley, a neuroscientist, and Alex Theory, an expert in immersive experiences and virtual reality. It magically transports you to the virtual reality world of your choice with integrated sound, aromatherapy and a massage bed interconnected with the device to monitor your heart and breathing rate.

Sensync is trying to combat stress, fatigue, anxiety and depression that have all become more common in our daily lives in recent years. But, for the moment, the Naupaka Resort in Ko Olina Beach is the only place that has the Sensync Vessel and is open to the public.

The Vessel offers a series of experiences that “reset” your brain to reach an elevated state of tranquillity. Guests are invited to experience a multi-sensory journey to a Zen Garden, Crystal Cove, Lost Jungle, Floating Clouds, Deep Space or Quantum Oneness, with each experience ranging between 20 and 80 minutes.

It creates unique immersive experiences that are personalised and adapted to obtain a treatment that can facilitate wellness and help people deal with stress, fatigue, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and other mental health issues.

This undoubtedly means a dramatic shift in the way we experience wellness, but for the moment we’ll have to wait a little longer to find it in our personal paradise.
