“Glamping”: see what all the fuss is about in a luxury stay at Miluna

How long has it been since you’ve gazed at the stars, and truly enjoyed them? When was the last time you watched the sun go down? Are you looking for a different type of getaway? Why limit yourself to a standard hotel, like the ones you’ve always stayed in?

New accommodation options, and new travel experiences, in particular, are arising on a daily basis…

For some time now, we have been witnessing the progressive growth of a new form of tourism that is gaining increasing popularity. This is “glamping”: an experience bringing together the best of “glamour” and “camping”. This accommodation option aims to combine luxury with the great outdoors, proving a unique and unforgettable experience, with accommodation options bearing a resemblance to tents, cabins and wagons, etc.

The bedrooms at Miluna are spherical and totally transparent, offering guests the unique experience of sleeping inside a “moon” under a starry sky, in a unique accommodation option that offers complete intimacy and comfort.

Miluna Open Nature Rooms

Just think about it. A transparent 30m2 bubble, containing a canopied king-size bed with carefully considered interior decoration. It also comprises a bathtub in which you can lay back and gaze at the stars. This is a camping option for those who like the finer things in life, set in a unique environment in which the sky is the leading attraction.

The glamping trend is rapidly spreading worldwide, with travellers now able to see what all the fuss is about without leaving Spain. Miluna Open Nature Rooms strikes the perfect balance between intimacy and wilderness. It’s based in Hormigos, a small town in the region of Toledo, just a few kilometres from the capital city of Madrid.

This unique establishment is iconic for its four outdoor moon bedrooms, which look like big bubbles. These moons are very special, as each one comprises a bathtub in which you can lay back and gaze at the stars, a private garden lined with aromatic flowers and a panoramic ceiling.

Guests in each bubble will be able to marvel at the starry night sky from the comfort of their own beds or contemplate the sun coming up first thing in the morning.

Each of the four spherical bedrooms is fully kitted out, allowing guests to fully disconnect from their daily lives and spend the night at one with the stars. At Miluna, silence is everything, guests can admire the setting of the sun and the night sky from the comfort of each bedroom.

The design of the bedrooms has been thoughtfully considered. Each one comes with its own telescope for stargazing, lunar calendar and books, as well as an eye mask to ensure a good night’s sleep. Its four bedrooms are named after the moons of Jupiter – Callisto, Io, Europa and Ganymede – and are equal in terms of size and services provided. Each stay comes with breakfast included, which is delivered in a basket when the sun comes up. All in all, this is a truly one-off experience.

Miluna complete experience

The Miluna experience provides much more than just a night under the stars. The tourist resort offers various proposals for those who want a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, while reinvigorating themselves through a range of activities.

Guests can enjoy a revitalising massage, a unique experience in a zero-gravity flotarium where they will feel like they are wallowing in the Dead Sea, or sample fantastic cuisine in its restaurant offering top-quality, locally-sourced products. Furthermore, so that guests can see what the local area has to offer, Miluna also organises various activities including bike rides, wine tasting events, horseback rides and sightseeing tours to nearby historic cities.
