Tesla’s CEO shows off the new Mars-bound spacecraft.

The Tesla CEO presented the new Starship, which will take people to have a stroll around Mars.

Elon Musk, one of the world’s most creative minds and entrepreneurs behind platforms such as Tesla and PayPal, announced that his company SpaceX, which is focused on developing space engineering, is taking a giant step forward in space travel.

Elon mentioned on Twitter some time ago that the spaceship was now ready to begin testing. “Starship test flight rocket just finished assembly at the @SpaceX Texas launch site…”.

The incredible spacecraft works with Raptor engines powered by methane and liquid oxygen, and measures approximately 30 feet (9 metres). In theory, the orbital version will have a thicker heat shield and a more curved tip.

According to the SpaceX brainchild, the price of a ticket to fly to Mars in the future would be less than $500,000 and could even cost less than $100,000. Musk said the final price will depend on demand and volume.

He also said the return trip to Earth will be free, or that it will already be included in the original ticket price. For SpaceX, it’s important to keep the price low enough for most economies to be able to change the planet they live on if they so wish.

SpaceX aims to have the first passenger flights ready to start in 2024. In the meantime, Musk is well-aware of the risks involved. He recently said in an interview that “The probability that you’ll die on Mars is much greater than on Earth. There’s also a good chance that you’ll die travelling in a tin can travelling through deep space.”

However, this reality doesn’t seem to prevent people from getting excited about this new possibility and they want to stay in the loop about updates to the spaceship and know more about space and space travel.
